I came across it this afternoon in the WordPress Insights tab. The Insights tab gives Information regarding views to a particular post and where it is coming from. While going through the details, I found something that brought my attention.
I didn’t know what it meant so I did a research by going through some articles and found that com.google.android.gm refers to the Gmail App from Android. Which essentially means that someone had viewed a blog post by clicking on a link from their Gmail App on their Android phone.
Many of us might have WordPress sites hosted with some hosting providers. And in order to login and access the WordPress Dashboard you need to be going to a specific url. wp-login.php is the name of a php file which has to be entered in the url. So the url starts with the the address of your website followed by wp-login.php .
It would be something like this, if http://www.abc.com is the name of your WordPress site then,
In order to display an Image on the header of a page or a post one would have to use the Featured Image Property. To Access the Featured Image Property, first edit the page or post. Then on the right pane click “Set a Featured Image”. Now you could either choose an Image from the media library or upload the picture from your computer. Once the Featured Image has been set, you would see the Image displayed on the header of the page.
This feature is particularly useful when you are using ‘posts’ to push out content. Normally posts are arranged in the order from the latest published date. It essentially means that the newest post comes in first and the oldest post appears in the last.
This is a very good approach for organizing content. But what if you had an article which you published a month ago that you feel is really important for your readers to see. As you know in this approach as you continue publishing articles, the older ones keeping getting pushed down and it would be harder for your audience to read that content.
To overcome this Issue, WordPress has a feature called as Sticky Post. So once you mark a post as a ‘Sticky Post’, it will always remain at the top of the page irrespective of how many articles you publish after that.
This feature is very useful in case you have an article that you really want your viewers to see. And this always remains on top.
In order to mark a post as a Sticky Post, follow these steps-
- Goto to the WordPress Dashboard.
- Click on Posts .
- Scroll down to the post you want to mark.
- Once you find the post, click on Quick Edit .
- On the right hand corner, Mark the option for ‘Sticky Post’. This would designate this post as a Sticky Post.

Having a Site Icon in your site, creates some kind of recognition. If you have a unique site icon, users would be able to recognize your site amongst the numerous other tabs which are there in the browser.

WordPress normally gives you default templates or templates that one could buy online. It is pretty standard with respect to appearance. But one could customize the themes and colors with css. And you could also play around with the layout if you know html and php.
Before you can make changes to css file you would need to know where it is located right? In the WordPress admin panel, goto Appearances and then click Editor. It would give you a list of files on the right. The css file would be right at the bottom.
Regarding layout you could work with the php files. WordPress is developed using php. So, most of the files are php templates where one could make changes. There is a file called header.php, which would allow you to make changes to the header of a page. And once a change is made on the header, it would get reflected on the other pages as well.
People would definitely need to know php in order to make changes to those files. There are other files like footer.php and page.php which would allow you to modify the footer and the page respectively.
