Git checkout

The Git checkout command is used to switch between different branches. The main branch in Github is the master branch. This is the default branch. One can create as many branches as one wants in a repository. Usually people create branches in order to work on some specific functionality and once done working with it they merge their branches to the main branch.

The syntax of the command is

git checkout branch_name
